Cam Site Glossary - Every Term You'll See, Explained
Platform Basics
Tokens - Virtual currency on Chaturbate and MyFreeCams. You buy them, then spend them on tips and private shows.
Credits - Same concept, different name. Used on LiveJasmin and StripChat.
Tip - Sending tokens to a model. Can include a message.
Tip menu - The model’s price list. Shows what each token amount gets you.
Tip goal - A target number of tokens. When the room collectively hits it, the model does something specific (usually a big show).
Room - A model’s live stream page. “Enter a room” = click their thumbnail and start watching.
Bio - The model’s profile description below their stream. Contains rules, schedule, tip menu, and personal info.
Show Types
Public show - Free stream anyone can watch. Where most content happens.
Private show (pvt) - Paid 1-on-1 session. Per-minute token cost. Nobody else can see (unless spy is enabled).
Spy show - Paying a reduced rate to watch someone else’s private show. You can see but not interact.
Group show - Multiple viewers pay to watch together. Cheaper than private. Model performs for the group.
Ticket show - Pay a flat fee upfront, watch a show of set duration. No per-minute charges after the ticket.
Fan club show - Exclusive to that model’s monthly subscribers.
Interaction Terms
C2C / Cam2Cam - Two-way video during a private show. You turn on your webcam so the model sees you.
Lovense / Lush - Bluetooth vibrators controlled by tips. “Lovense on” = the model is wearing one.
PM / DM - Private message / direct message. Usually requires Supporter status.
Mod / Knight - A viewer the model appointed to moderate chat (mute/ban people breaking rules).
People in the Room
Lurker - Someone watching without chatting or tipping. Totally normal. Most viewers are lurkers.
Regular - A returning viewer the model recognizes by name.
Whale - A very high-spending tipper. Someone dropping 5,000-50,000+ tokens in a session.
King/Queen - The highest tipper in the current session. Usually highlighted on screen.
Grey - A user who has never tipped (grey username color). Models sometimes ignore greys in busy rooms.
Purple - Has tipped before (purple username). Gets more attention than greys.
Blue - Has tokens in their account. Signals they might tip.
Common Abbreviations in Chat
BB - Bareback (no condom, relevant in couple shows)
BJ - Self-explanatory
DP - Double penetration
JOI - Jerk off instructions
CEI - Self-explanatory for those who know
GFE - Girlfriend experience (more intimate, conversational private show)
Pvt - Private show
Tip menu or TM - Check the tip menu
Goal - Referring to the active tip goal
Cum show - Model orgasms on camera (usually at a tip goal)
Model Status Terms
Online - Currently streaming live
Offline - Not streaming right now
Away - Stream is live but model stepped away briefly
In private - Currently doing a private show with someone
New - Recently verified, first 7 days on platform
